Purpose of job:
To ensure that all Teaching Centres (Agouza & Heliopolis)
resources both staff and equipment fully support and contribute to an
optimum customer and teacher/examiner experience and to thereby maintain
and enhance the reputation of the British Council.
Context and environment:
The post will be based in the Agouza teaching centre which provides
English courses for 13500 students. There are around 70 teachers and
managers directly involved in providing this service. There are 30 fully
equipped classrooms used primarily for teaching but also for
examinations and a staff room containing IT and paper-based teaching
resources. 3 Teaching Centre Resources Assistant based in the staff room
administer the paper-based teaching resources on a shift basis and 2 K
grade Registry Clerk staff provide photocopied materials and administer
postal services and stationary supplies managed by BC Resources.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
(including people management and finance)
1. To develop procedures & processes for the efficient and
effective processing, distribution, utilisation & maintenance of
teaching centre resources.
2. To ensure that grade H Teaching Centre Resources Technician
maintains all TC staffroom and classroom IT, audio and air conditioning
equipment is fully and consistently functional.
3. To ensure that the teachers room and classrooms are clean and in
good order and to report and follow up with BC Agouza Resources as
necessary.
4. To schedule grade J Teaching Centre Resources Assistants and
grade K Registry Clerks to ensure that they are available at peak
teaching times when they are most needed, taking into account that
grade K Registry Clerks post & stationary distribution duties also
need to be covered.
5. To ensure that grade J Teaching Centre Resources Assistants and
grade K Registry Clerks job descriptions reflect the support duties
required.
6. To ensure that grade J Teaching Centre Resources Assistants
perform all job description duties to the required standard and achieve
all deliverables as per job plans.
7. To ensure that grade K Registry Clerks deliver to teachers all
photocopying requests within the required time frame and to the required
quality standard.
8. To inform Teaching Centre Manager of the need for the replacement of TC resources and to provide associated cost estimates.
9. To seek feedback from teachers & managers on a bi-termly
basis on the efficiency & effectiveness of TC resources management
& make any necessary adjustments to the support provided.
10. To advise on and ensure that all TC staff are in compliance with BC IT usage and BC copyright policies.
11. To manage TC promotional and publicity materials, liaising with Customer Service and Marketing Teams.
12. To ensure that Heliopolis teaching Centre and future branches are given resource support as on when needed.
